Sunset International Bible Institute welcomes Terry Harrison as the new Residential Dean of our school in Singapore. Terry and his wife Terilee come to this opportunity with hearts of love for the work in Singapore and a vision for what the Lord can do through them in this new assignment.
SIBI-Singapore is hosted in the Pasir Panjang congregation’s building in Singapore with a diverse student body that comes from many parts of Asia. That congregation has a burning desire to share the name of Christ with the region and works tirelessly in its missions to plant new congregations, strengthen existing works and train and equip leaders in the Lord’s church. Singapore is within a five hour flight of more than two billion souls. From this strategic location, Sunset continues to have the potential to impact about one-third of the earth’s population and by God’s grace we are partnering with the Pasir Panjang congregation to see that done.
Terry is a 1981 graduate of Sunset and has a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from SIBI. He has added to this a degree from Central Texas College. Terry has more than 25 years of local ministry experience in Texas and California. He has been involved in short term mission work and teaching in Russia and in Singapore. He has experience in the Asian culture having lived in Japan for several years, working among Koreans in Texas and his time in Singapore. For the last four years he has not only worked with the Quartz Hill Church of Christ in California but also taught courses in the High Desert Bible College. In addition, he worked for a few years with the Josephson Institute for Ethics. His ministry training and experience commend him well to this new work.
Terry and Terilee both have backgrounds in business development and the training of entrepreneurs. Terilee is a Christian author and accomplished speaker. Because of these and a host of other skills and traits we are blessed to have them come on board to take up the leadership of SIBI-Singapore. From there they will not only share the gospel themselves but equip others to do the same in such places as China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, and India, just to name a few. They, with their 15 year old son Cole, are expecting to move to Singapore in the first half of 2017. We are confident that they will do a remarkable job training preachers, church leaders and disciple makers to impact generations to come in Asia.
As they undertake this responsibility, they are entrusting themselves to God to provide what they need to do His work. Their mission, like so many others, cannot survive without your support. Please consider whether you or your congregation could come along side to partner with them in this great and influential work for Christ. More material can be found on their website. If you would like more information about how you can help, please contact Tim Burow, Dean of International Studies, SIBI.
