YOUTH MINISTER JOB DESCRIPTION
A)PURPOSE/GOAL
To facilitate opportunities and situations to help the youth at Southwest Church of Christ to grow closer to our Lord and develop spiritually, as well as evangelize youth in our community.
B) RESPONSIBILITIES
1 – Youth
- Teach youth class
- Organize youth events/devotionals
- Evangelize visiting youth and reach out to those who are hurting
- Attend social/sporting events of the youth
- Visit parents of youth
- L2L: Assist in organizing youth participation in the Lads2Leaders program
- Trips: Coordinate youth trips and solicit parents to attend/assist
- Budget: Provide adequate accounting of monies spent
2 – Others
- Work with staff as needed
- Attendance at all church-organized events is encouraged
- Preach when needed
C) OFFICE DUTIES AND OFFICE TIME/HOURS
- 8:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Tuesday through Friday
- Any additional time needed to fulfill the above responsibilities
- Allow time before and after services to address questions/concerns from parents as needed
- Attire: Business at the office; casual when appropriate
- Elders Meetings: Attend weekly Elders/Staff meetings

E) QUALIFICATIONS
A Christian with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Any prior youth ministry experience and relevant education will be considered.
