Job Description: Pulpit Minister

The Oldham Lane church of Christ is a thriving congregation of roughly 700 members. Fully staffed, the church-compensated team is comprised of 4 ministers and 3 additional staff members. Leadership is comprised of 12 elders and 15 deacons overseeing an array of ministries.

Services currently consist of an early and late service on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday night Bible Study. All services are live-streamed through multiple outlets, and Sunday services are regularly archived. A large cadre of Bible classes is offered for all ages.

Abilene has a population of 123,000 and is a great place to raise a family. It enjoys a low cost of living, two robust school systems, key medical infrastructure for the city and surrounding region, three universities, and multiple junior and technical training colleges.

Qualifications

Oldham Lane’s mission is to make and grow disciples. The church is seeking a full-time pulpit minister who can continue a long tradition of dynamic preaching and community involvement. In this regard, the candidate will be working for and with the church leadership to share the message of Jesus Christ with outsiders and encourage and mature the church membership.

Duties include but are not restricted to, preparing Bible-based sermons and maintaining a solid communication presence within our congregation. Visual media consists of the “Life in the Light” television program presented weekly, which typically offers a streamlined version of Sunday’s sermon. Additional duties include participating in members’ life events (e.g., weddings, funerals, hospitalizations, etc.) and facilitating ministry coordination as needed.

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Retirement and paid vacation included.

Texas A&M - Commerce College Ministry

Commerce Church of Christ

The Commerce Church of Christ, in Commerce, Texas is looking for a Campus Minister to support the Texas A&M University – Commerce Lions for Christ (LFC) ministry. Commerce is located approximately 67 miles East of downtown Dallas. The university has an active student body of over 7,000 students. The LFC serves as a family, support system, and a Christian home away from home. The ministry mission is to walk college students into a relationship with God and His kingdom, with the primary focus being evangelism. Maintaining a regular program of spiritual development will be expected. The Campus Minster must establish and maintain a presence in the local community and maintain weekly office hours. The ideal candidate will be a married man with a strong Biblical background and a family supportive of his ministry. Work and lead the students to fulfill the LFC mission, purpose, and programs. The LFC Campus Minister will need to be active in raising support for the LFC. Associate Minister

We are a recent church plant of around 200 very loving and mission-minded members. We are growing and looking for a full-time associate minister. Duties would include preaching occasionally, ministering to those inside and outside the church, and working with our youth group.
